Assam, July 12- The flood situation in Assam has significantly deteriorated, with the death toll reaching 84 as of Friday, July 12. 

Authorities report that approximately 1.4 million people have been affected by the floods, which have impacted 26 out of the state's 35 districts. The most severely affected areas include Kachar, Barpeta, Kamrup, Nagaon, Dhubri, and Biswanath, with Nagaon district suffering the greatest damage.

Over 100,000 people have sought refuge in various shelters across the state. Floodwaters continue to flow over danger levels, with the Brahmaputra, Kushiara, Subansiri, and Disang rivers all exceeding their danger marks.

The state government has been providing relief to the affected areas. However, adverse conditions are making it increasingly challenging to deliver aid to those in need. 

Efforts are ongoing to assist the distressed populations, but the situation remains critical. Authorities are working round the clock to mitigate the impact and provide necessary support to those affected.
