Sept 22, V7N - Russian forces launched a guided bomb strike on a multi-storey apartment building in Kharkiv, Ukraine's second-largest city, injuring at least 12 people and prompting the evacuation of residents. Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported that rescue operations were underway at the site, where many windows were shattered and significant damage was evident. The attack occurred in a city that has frequently been targeted since the onset of the Russian invasion in February 2022. Terekhov noted that the bomb landed near the building's entrance, causing explosions that damaged nearby vehicles. Among the injured was a child, as confirmed by regional Governor Oleh Syniehubov.

This strike was part of a series of attacks on Kharkiv, with reports indicating that Russian forces had conducted multiple strikes in the area, injuring 15 people just the day before. In addition to the Kharkiv incident, a Russian drone attack in the town of Nikopol resulted in the deaths of two individuals, while a separate artillery strike in Kurakhove claimed one life.Local authorities in the Sumy region also reported that Russian aircraft targeted energy infrastructure in the town of Shostka, further escalating the violence in the region.

The ongoing conflict has seen a significant increase in hostilities, with both sides suffering heavy casualties. The situation remains tense as Ukraine continues to face regular attacks from Russian forces, particularly in areas close to the border. As the humanitarian crisis deepens, the international community watches closely, hoping for a resolution to the ongoing violence.
