Dhaka, May 2 (V7N): A CNG-run auto-rickshaw driver was killed and two passengers were injured after a head-on collision with a truck at Basila Bridge in Dhaka on Thursday night.
The deceased was identified as Sadequl Islam, the driver of the auto-rickshaw. The injured passengers were given primary medical treatment, according to police sources.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Hazaribagh Police Station, Saiful Islam, confirmed the incident, stating that the collision occurred around 8:30 PM. The truck was seized by police, but the driver managed to flee the scene immediately after the crash.
The body of the deceased has been sent to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Morgue for autopsy.
An investigation is underway to identify and arrest the truck driver, the OC added.
