Bagerhat, July 13 (V7N)- A bus accident in Fakirhat, Bagerhat, has claimed the life of an Indian national, Sridhar Ganguly (45), and injured at least five others. The tragic incident occurred on Saturday morning, July 13, in the Foltita area of Fakirhat upazila, along the Khulna-Dhaka highway.
 
Sridhar Ganguly, identified as an Indian citizen, was the son of Gin Ganguly from Devgram in Kotalipara upazila of Gopalganj district, according to police reports.
 
Among the injured, Monowara Begum (45) was taken to Fakirhat Hospital for treatment.
 
Sheikh Nuruzzaman Chanu, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Mollahat Highway Police, reported that the accident happened around 7:30 AM when a passenger bus named Rajib was dropping off passengers. At that moment, a Dhaka-bound bus named Dola, traveling at high speed from the opposite direction, collided with it. Six passengers on the Rajib bus sustained serious injuries, and Sridhar Ganguly succumbed to his injuries en route to the hospital. The injured were transported to various hospitals for treatment. The driver and the helper of the Dola bus fled the scene.
 
The Mollahat Highway Police have impounded both buses involved in the collision.
