Dhaka, Oct 15 (V7N) — Chief of Army Staff General Waqar-uz-Zaman has departed for the United States and Canada on an official visit, according to a press release issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Tuesday.

The press release stated that during his visit, the army chief will hold meetings with senior military and civilian officials of both countries and at the United Nations headquarters. Discussions will focus on key topics, including matters related to the United Nations peacekeeping mission, enhancing the capacity of the Bangladesh Army, strengthening bilateral relations, and charting future strategies.

Additionally, General Waqar-uz-Zaman will explore opportunities for mutual cooperation between Bangladesh, the US, and Canada, seeking to bolster collaboration across various sectors.

The ISPR confirmed that the army chief will conclude his official visit and return to Bangladesh on October 25, 2024.
