Dhaka, Oct 31 (V7N)- The government has renamed six medical colleges across Bangladesh, removing references to Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina from their titles. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare’s Medical Education and Family Welfare Division issued a circular on Wednesday confirming the change, now aligning the colleges' names with their respective districts.

According to the circular signed by Secretary Md Sarwar Bari, the following institutions have been renamed: Colonel Malik Medical College in Manikganj is now Manikganj Medical College, Abdul Malek Ukil Medical College in Noakhali becomes Noakhali Medical College, and Sheikh Hasina Medical College in Jamalpur is now Jamalpur Medical College. Additionally, Sheikh Hasina Medical College in Tangail is now Tangail Medical College, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical College in Faridpur becomes Faridpur Medical College, and M Abdur Rahim Medical College in Dinajpur is renamed Dinajpur Medical College.
