Dhaka, Nov 07 (V7N) — British High Commissioner Sarah Cook announced the UK's commitment to supporting judicial reforms in Bangladesh, following a meeting with Chief Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed on Thursday.

The High Commissioner met with the Chief Justice at 11 a.m. for a discussion that spanned approximately 45 minutes. Speaking to reporters afterward, Sarah Cook emphasized the UK's desire to engage actively in advancing reforms within Bangladesh’s judicial system. "We had a fruitful discussion with the Chief Justice on potential avenues for collaboration," she remarked.

The British envoy highlighted that the UK views judicial reform as essential for enhancing justice and fairness in Bangladesh. The meeting underscored a shared vision between the UK and Bangladesh in promoting a more efficient and transparent judiciary.
