Dhaka, Dec 08 (V7N) – Civil Aviation and Tourism Adviser AF Hassan Ariff emphasized the government's efforts to promote tourism across the country, stressing that tourism is not merely about constructing large infrastructure but fostering connections between people and places.
He shared these remarks as the chief guest at the closing ceremony of an eight-day public awareness campaign at Shaheed Subhash Hall, Cox's Bazar Institute, and Public Library on Friday.
The campaign focused on keeping Cox's Bazar's sea beach and town clean while addressing issues like dengue prevention and the reduction of single-use plastic. The event was organized by the Bangladesh Tourism Board and the Cox's Bazar district administration, with Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Salahuddin presiding.
Hassan Ariff expressed optimism about transforming Cox's Bazar into a clean and exemplary city in the future.
Civil Aviation and Tourism Secretary Nasreen Jahan, also speaking at the event, announced plans to provide tourism-related training for journalists and others involved in the sector. She highlighted the importance of collaboration to address various challenges, pledging discussions with the Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA) and the Tourism Board to propel the industry forward.
