Dhaka, Dec 08 (V7N) – The Adviser to the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, Dr. Bidhan Ranjan Roy Poddar, has announced that the book festival traditionally held on January 1 will be postponed in 2025.
The delay stems from revisions and updates made to several chapters in textbooks across all grade levels, slowing the printing process. Consequently, students are expected to receive their books by mid-January instead of at the start of the year.
Dr. Poddar shared this information on Sunday while addressing journalists following a meeting with officials from the Khulna division.
He also disclosed plans to introduce a mid-day meal program in all primary schools nationwide within the next five years, with implementation beginning next year. The initiative is part of broader efforts to enhance primary school infrastructure and drive qualitative improvements in education.
During the meeting, officials emphasized the importance of merit-based recruitment and promotions to uplift the quality of primary education. They urged prompt solutions to existing challenges in primary schools and proposed strategies to ensure continuous student engagement in classrooms.
