Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has invited foreign investors to participate in the extraction of oil and gas resources in Bangladesh, emphasizing the country's commitment to their proper utilization for socio-economic development. Speaking at the 'Golden Jubilee' celebration of the 50th anniversary of the enactment of the 'Territorial Waters and Maritime Zones Act, 1974' on Thursday at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center, Prime Minister Hasina highlighted the government's call for tenders in this sector.

She underscored the significance of foreign investment, noting the strategic advantages of Bangladesh's geostrategic location. Prime Minister Hasina expressed a desire for peaceful cooperation with all nations, emphasizing the importance of peace for progress and prosperity. She stated that despite various conflicts around the world, Bangladesh remains committed to peaceful resolutions while asserting its rights in maritime boundaries.

Reflecting on past neglect, Prime Minister Hasina criticized previous governments for failing to address maritime boundary issues for over two decades. She reiterated her government's commitment to fulfilling these responsibilities, emphasizing the importance of agreements established by Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the subsequent efforts to implement them.
