Dhaka, Dec 26 (V7N)— An investigation committee will be formed to probe the fire incident that broke out at the Secretariat, Home Affairs Advisor Jahangir Alam Chowdhury announced today. He stated that it is too early to determine whether the fire was an accident, a conspiracy, or an act of sabotage.

Speaking to reporters after inspecting the fire-damaged area around 9 am, the advisor said, "A high-powered investigation committee has been ordered to look into the matter thoroughly. The truth will emerge once the investigation is complete."

The fire, which broke out in seven buildings of the Secretariat at 1:52 am on Wednesday, prompted an immediate response from the Secretariat’s Fire Service unit. However, as the blaze intensified, 18 additional units of the Fire Service were deployed to combat the flames.

After six hours of relentless efforts, firefighters successfully brought the fire under control at 8:05 am on Thursday.

The incident has raised concerns about safety and security measures in one of the most critical administrative hubs of the country. Further updates will follow once the investigation begins.
