Dhaka, Dec 29 (V7N) — Members of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement and the National Citizens Committee have sparked widespread speculation and discussion on social media by sharing cryptic slogans and hints ahead of December 31. The coordinated campaign has created a buzz about a significant event expected to take place on that day.
Activists and coordinators began posting slogans on Saturday night, with messages such as “Now or Never” and “December 31” dominating their social media pages. While no official announcement has been made, their posts hint at a groundbreaking development.
Advisor Asif Mahmud posted, “Comrades Now or Never,” while National Citizens Committee Member Secretary Akhtar Hossain wrote, “It will happen this year. December 31. In Sha Allah!” Hasnat Abdullah, the convener of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, echoed similar sentiments with, “Comrades, 31st DECEMBER! Now or Never.”
One of the coordinators, Rifat Rashid, hinted at an event at the Central Shaheed Minar at 3 PM on December 31. He commented that this would mark the movement’s biggest revolutionary step yet.
Multiple sources suggest that the Proclamation of July Revolution will be officially released during this event. The declaration, believed to represent the movement’s vision for eliminating systemic discrimination, may seek formal recognition by inclusion in the country’s constitutional framework.
When contacted, Akhtar Hossain confirmed, “The Proclamation of July will be issued on December 31. It will be read at the Central Shaheed Minar under the banner of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement.”
The movement, known for its efforts to address social inequality and discrimination, has consistently mobilized students and citizens across the country. If the speculation proves true, December 31 could mark a significant turning point in their struggle for equality.
All eyes are now on the Central Shaheed Minar, where the proclamation is expected to unfold.
