Dhaka, Dec 30 (V7N) — The Press Wing of the Chief Adviser’s Office has dismissed the ZEE News report about Dr Muhammad Yunus, head of Bangladesh's interim government, as “completely false and baseless.”
In a Facebook post on Monday, the CA Press Wing Facts said that the report is part of a “well-orchestrated campaign” by the Indian media against Bangladesh's interim government under the leadership of Professor Yunus.
“The news item published in India’s Zee News is completely false and fabricated. It is a part of a well-calibrated propaganda campaign launched by the Indian media against the Professor Yunus-led Interim Government of Bangladesh.
We categorically deny every content of the story and request all not to pay any attention to such propaganda carried out with ill intentions to destabilise Bangladesh. Soon after assuming the leadership of the Interim Government, Professor Muhammad Yunus invited Indian media to visit Bangladesh and report events from the ground.
Unfortunately, even some of the respected Indian media have decided not to respond and instead kept on inventing stories by conveniently quoting unnamed sources,” it said.
The ZEE News report alleged that a new terrorist network, modeled after Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), is emerging in Bangladesh.
It further claimed that Dr Yunus is involved in forming a militant group called the “Islamic Revolutionary Army (IRA),” warning of potential regional and global security threats.
