Dhaka, Jan 02 (V7N) — In a massive drive to enforce traffic regulations, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Traffic Division filed 1,908 cases in the capital on Wednesday for violations of traffic laws. Many of the violators were fined during the operation.

As part of the drive, 43 vehicles were impounded, and 72 were dismantled for failing to comply with legal requirements.

The DMP's Media and Public Relations Department released a statement on Thursday, detailing the actions taken. It emphasized that the campaign aims to maintain traffic discipline across the Dhaka metropolitan area and ensure road safety.

The statement also reiterated that the DMP’s traffic department will continue its operations to enforce regulations and improve road conditions in the city.
