Dhaka, Jan 19 (V7N)—The new chargé d'affaires at the US Embassy in Dhaka, Tracey Ann Jacobson, has underscored the strong partnership between Bangladesh and the United States and their support for the interim government’s efforts to “chart a prosperous and democratic path” for the Bangladeshi people.
Ambassador Jacobson met for the first time with Foreign Affairs Adviser Md Touhid Hossain and Foreign Secretary Md Jashim on Sunday to discuss shared interests and priorities between the United States and Bangladesh.
In her first engagement with the interim government a couple of days ago, Jacobson had a productive discussion with Law Adviser Asif Nazrul on labour rights, judicial reform and counter-terrorism.
The United States is dedicated to upholding human rights and strengthening the justice system to ensure the principles of fairness and security for all, according to the US Embassy in Dhaka.
