Dhaka, Jan 22 (V7N) — A Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight from Rome to Dhaka faced a bomb threat on Wednesday morning, prompting an immediate response upon its arrival at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport. However, after a thorough search by the bomb disposal unit, no explosives or suspicious objects were found on board.
The flight landed safely at 9:20 am with 250 passengers and 13 crew members on board. The bomb disposal team began their search at 10:30 am, meticulously inspecting the aircraft's seats, corridors, toilets, and café areas. After an extensive investigation, officials confirmed the absence of any bombs or bomb-like items.
Upon landing, all passengers and crew were swiftly evacuated and escorted to the terminal. Law enforcement cordoned off the aircraft during the inspection, ensuring the safety of everyone involved. Passengers remained in the terminal building as a precautionary measure until the aircraft was declared secure.
Airport authorities assured that passengers' luggage would be returned shortly. No injuries or further incidents were reported, and the matter is under investigation to determine the source of the threat.
