Dhaka, Jan 27 (V7N)— Home Affairs Advisor (retired) Lieutenant General Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has called for calm and patience amid ongoing clashes between students of Dhaka University and seven affiliated colleges.

Speaking to reporters after a law and order core committee meeting at the Secretariat on Monday, the advisor stressed the importance of resolving the conflict through dialogue.

"I believe the issue can be resolved through discussion. Everyone needs to exercise patience. Impatience will not lead to a solution. Law enforcement agencies have also been advised to handle the situation with care," said Jahangir Alam Chowdhury.

He assured that efforts were underway to resolve the matter swiftly and urged students to approach the issue peacefully. "We request our student brothers to remain patient and resolve the problem through discussion," he added.

The advisor also called on protesters to avoid blocking roads during demonstrations, citing the inconvenience caused to the public. "It would be better if protests are held in designated areas such as fields or Suhrawardy Udyan. Blocking roads creates traffic congestion and causes suffering for people," he stated.

Efforts are expected to continue to bring an end to the tensions and ensure a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
