Dhaka, Jan 27 (V7N) — Students of the seven colleges affiliated with Dhaka University (DU) have issued a 24-hour ultimatum demanding the resignation of DU Pro-VC Mamun Ahmed. They announced their stance during a protest in front of Dhaka College on Monday evening.
The protesting students also threatened to surround the New Market Police Station if their demands are not met within the stipulated time. Additionally, they declared that no Dhaka University vehicles would be allowed to pass through the area surrounding the seven colleges until their demands are addressed.
The students further demanded the removal of officials in charge of New Market Police Station, including the Officer-in-Charge (OC) and Assistant Commissioner (AC).
The protesters expressed hope that the authorities or government representatives would reach out within 24 hours to resolve the matter.
The situation remains tense, with students determined to escalate their movement if their demands are ignored.
