Dhaka, Feb 02 (V7N) — Youth and Sports Advisor Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan has acknowledged that the interim government cannot resolve all national issues immediately but aims to set a model for future solutions.

He made these remarks on Sunday morning at the inauguration ceremony of six canal renovation projects under the jurisdiction of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) and Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC).

"It is not possible for the interim government to fix everything in Bangladesh in such a short period of time. However, I would like to provide a model with which we can work in the future," Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan stated.

He highlighted the importance of the Blue Network initiative in addressing waterlogging in Dhaka and emphasized that preserving the city's canals could significantly change its landscape.

At the same event, Forest and Environment Advisor Syeda Rizwana Hasan announced the start of excavation work on six canals before the monsoon. "Earlier, there was a lack of coordination. But now, inter-ministerial bodies are working together. It will take time to complete the work, but we are starting it," she said.

Housing and Public Works Advisor Adilur Rahman Khan reinforced the government's commitment to reclaiming encroached canals, urging public participation. "The work of freeing the canal from encroachment will continue. The government alone cannot do it; the people must do it together," he added.

With the interim government focusing on laying the groundwork for long-term development, officials remain hopeful that these initiatives will pave the way for sustainable urban solutions.
