Dhaka, Feb 05 (V7N)— Dr. Muhammad Yunus, Chief Advisor to the Interim Government, has hailed the report of the Judiciary and Public Administration Reform Commission as a landmark document for rights-conscious individuals both in Bangladesh and globally.
He made the remarks after receiving the reports at his office on Wednesday afternoon. Dr. Yunus stated that these documents would be made public to foster national consensus on critical reforms.
The reports were officially handed over at the State Guest House Jamuna by Justice Shah Abu Naeem Mominur Rahman, head of the Judicial Reforms Commission, and Abdul Mueed Chowdhury, head of the Public Administration Reforms Commission.
Addressing the members of the commissions, Dr. Yunus emphasized the importance of public engagement with the reports. He stressed that these reforms would directly impact all citizens, from the wealthy to the underprivileged.
“These reports are not just contributions to Bangladesh but to the world,” he said, calling for their translation into English to ensure global accessibility. “If you want to go to the court of the world, you have to bring the language of the world.”
He further noted that the reports will be shared with political parties, civil society organizations, and the general public to seek widespread agreement before implementation.
Following the formation of the interim government on August 8, six commissions were established to reform key state sectors. The Election Commission, Anti-Corruption Commission, Police Reform Commission, and the Constitutional Reform Commission had already submitted their reports on January 15.
Dr. Yunus expressed hope that the Judiciary and Public Administration Reform reports would lay the foundation for a new society centered on human rights and justice.
