Dhaka, Feb 13 (V7N) – Bangladesh has launched a new fast-track system for issuing visas on arrival, reducing processing time to just 10 minutes, Home Affairs Advisor Lieutenant General (Retd.) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury announced on Thursday (February 13).

Speaking at a press conference at the Ministry of Home Affairs, the advisor stated that foreign nationals eligible for on-arrival visas can now apply online, receive a code, and complete the process at the airport within minutes.

Key Features of the New On-Arrival Visa System:

  • Visa issued within 10 minutes (Previously took 45 minutes to 1 hour).
  • Online application system generates a unique code for applicants.
  • Visa validity: 30 days.
  • Payment methods: Both cash and card (in USD).
  • Immediate implementation starting today.

“The only time-consuming step now is depositing the visa fee at Sonali Bank, but payments can be made via both cash and card,” said the advisor.

Additionally, Jahangir Alam Chowdhury hinted at future passport process reforms, including removing police verification to further simplify the application process.
