Dhaka, Feb 15 (V7N) – Cultural Affairs Adviser Mostofa Sarwar Farooki on Saturday said that the issues within the film industry have been identified.
He also expressed his hope to begin addressing these problems during his tenure.
He made these remarks at the inauguration ceremony of the Dhaka Division Film Workshop at the Shilpakala Academy.
Farooki said that government-funded films in Bangladesh do not attract audiences.
He emphasized the need for a structured state initiative to create funds for filmmaking.
Highlighting the emergence of a culturally inclined new generation, he said: "They have grown up without any state support."
He further mentioned that the new generation is independently taking initiatives to tell their own stories.
