Tongi, Feb 16 (V7N) – The Saadists' World Ijtema concluded with the final prayer on Sunday afternoon, led by Maulana Yusuf bin Saad, the eldest son of Maulana Saad Kandhalovi. The prayer, which began at 12:30 PM, sought peace, prosperity, and self-purification for the Muslim Ummah across the world.
Thousands of devotees from Tongi and surrounding areas gathered at Ijtema Maidan for the prayer. The event began with a sermon after the Fajr prayer, which was later translated for foreign guests. Throughout the Ijtema, attendees received faith-based training, focusing on inviting others to Islam and strengthening their spiritual commitment.
Following the Ijtema, groups of attendees will embark on 7 to 10-day retreats, applying their learnings in practical missionary work.
To ensure a smooth conclusion, the Gazipur Metropolitan Police maintained heightened security measures. Additionally, the Bangladesh Railway Department arranged eight special trains to facilitate the departure of attendees.
This year’s Ijtema drew about 1,500 foreign devotees from 49 countries, reflecting its global reach and religious significance.
