Dhaka, Feb 17 (V7N) – Chief Advisor Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus has stressed the need for a joint economic system between Bangladesh, India, Nepal, and Bhutan, citing the geographical and economic advantages such a collaboration could bring.
Speaking as the chief guest at the Bangladesh Administration Service Association Conference 2025 at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center in Dhaka on Sunday, Dr. Yunus said that efforts to establish economic cooperation among these four countries have already begun.
Dr. Yunus stated,
"We are very fortunate in terms of natural resources and population. Our youth have the potential to conquer the world. To harness this, we must open new opportunities for them."
He emphasized that Bangladesh’s youth demonstrated an exceptional movement in July and August, something he claimed has not been seen anywhere else in the world.
Identifying corruption as the biggest obstacle to Bangladesh’s progress, Dr. Yunus urged public administration officials to bring all government services online to enhance transparency and efficiency.
Several prominent figures also spoke at the conference, including:
Financial Advisor Salehuddin Ahmed, Legal Advisor Dr. Asif Nazrul, Information Advisor Nahid Islam, Cabinet Secretary Sheikh Abdur Rashid, Administrative Service Association President Md. Nazrul Islam
