Sirajganj, Feb 18 (V7N) – With the theme "Scouting to Build a Society Without Discrimination," the Seventh National Community Development Camp (COMDECA) will take place from February 19 to 25 in Sirajganj. The interim government's Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus is set to formally inaugurate the event, officials confirmed.

Organized by Bangladesh Scouts, the week-long camp will be held at Sirajganj City Defense Dam Hard Point and is expected to draw around 6,000 participants, including 4,000 Rover Scouts, 1,500 volunteers, and officials from across the country.

According to COMDECA organizers, a total of 398 Rover Scout teams will participate, with each team consisting of eight members and a unit leader. Necessary infrastructure, including tents, sanitation facilities, clean water, and electricity, has already been arranged for the participants' accommodation.

To ensure round-the-clock medical support, a temporary hospital has been set up by the District Civil Surgeon, with doctors available 24/7. Additionally, a fire service team has been deployed alongside law enforcement agencies to manage any emergencies.

Nasir Uddin, Assistant Director of Bangladesh Scouts, stated that both the national headquarters and Sirajganj district administration are closely monitoring all aspects of the camp to ensure a successful and well-organized event.

It is worth noting that in 2001, the Third National COMDECA and Eighth National Rover Moot were held at the same venue in Sirajganj.
