Savar, Feb 24 (V7N) – Army Chief General (Name) has stated that the Bangladesh Army is committed to maintaining peace and order in the country until an elected government is formed.
He made these remarks while attending the award ceremony for the winners of the firing competition at Savar Cantonment on Monday afternoon, where he was the chief guest.
"We Must Be Patient and Professional"
Addressing the soldiers, the Army Chief said, “We initially thought we would complete our work quickly and return to the cantonment, but now it is clear that we have to continue for a longer period. However, we must remain patient and fulfill our responsibilities with professionalism.”
He stressed that while performing duties, the army must be careful not to use force unnecessarily.
"We must use force only to the extent that is absolutely necessary. Our primary duty is to serve the country and the nation, ensuring stability during this transitional period," he added.
Army Chief Participates in Firing Competition
During the event, the Army Chief himself participated in the firing competition, showcasing his skills alongside the troops.
The 9th Infantry Division's General Officer Commanding (GOC), Major General Moin Khan, and other senior military officials were present at the event.
Competition Results
- First Place – Thirty-third Infantry Division
- Runner-up – Seventh Brigade Division
The competition highlighted the army’s combat readiness and discipline, reinforcing its commitment to national security.
