Dhaka, Mar 02 (V7N) – The Ministry of Home Affairs has implemented several important decisions aimed at improving the law and order situation across the country, particularly in Dhaka, with regular monitoring to ensure proper implementation. This was announced through a notification on Sunday (March 3), signed by Faisal Hasan, Public Relations Officer (Director) of the Ministry.

The key decisions are as follows:

  1. Special Operations: Since February 8, special operations have been launched nationwide to apprehend identified criminals, terrorists, and drug and smuggling dealers.

  2. Workshops for Law Enforcement: A nationwide workshop has been organized on 'Enforcing the Law with Emphasis on Human Rights and the Environment in the Changing Situation of the Country' to boost the morale of law enforcement agencies, including the police. This workshop involved the police, administration, judiciary, and public prosecutors.

  3. Media Briefings: Law enforcement heads, including Deputy Police Commissioners and brigade heads deployed in the army, have been briefing the media about each incident and the corresponding decisions taken.

  4. Increased Patrols: The number of patrols has been increased in crime-prone areas and important points within the capital. Joint operations involving the army, various police units, and BGB are being conducted.

  5. Additional Patrol Support: In addition to regular patrols, additional patrols by the navy and coast guard have been deployed on key roads in Dhaka.

  6. Joint Operations Against Criminals: Joint operations targeting robbers, dacoits, juvenile gangs, and other criminal elements are being carried out in high-risk areas.

  7. Updating Criminal Lists: Law enforcement agencies have been instructed to update the list of terrorists operating in various police stations, ensuring prompt action.

  8. Enhanced Patrols in Specific Areas: Patrols have been increased in the areas surrounding Tongi, Basila, Keraniganj, and Munshiganj in Dhaka.

  9. Motorcycle Deployment: The DMP, BGB, Ansar, and Bangladesh Coast Guard will soon receive motorcycles for quick access to alleys and improved crime-fighting capabilities.

  10. Counteracting Rumors and Propaganda: Measures have been taken to disseminate accurate information and combat rumors and propaganda.

  11. Inspection and Monitoring: Senior officials including the Home Advisor, Home Secretary, IGP of Police, and DMP Commissioner are inspecting police stations, check posts, and patrol activities during early morning and late-night shifts.

  12. Meetings with Law Enforcement: The Home Advisor has held meetings with law enforcement officials across all administrative divisions, issuing necessary instructions.

  13. Night Monitoring: Officials have been tasked with monitoring night activities of various check posts and patrol teams to ensure the law and order situation improves in the Dhaka Metropolitan Area.

  14. Case Monitoring Committees: Case Monitoring Committees have been established at the district and metropolitan levels to scrutinize cases and ensure innocent people are not harassed.

  15. Monitoring Martyrs' Families' Cases: The Ministry is ensuring that the cases related to the families of martyrs of the July Revolution are closely monitored for justice to be served.

  16. Incident Reviews: The Ministry is conducting a thorough review of all law and order incidents and taking necessary actions to maintain peace.

These measures are part of the ongoing effort to enhance the security and stability of the nation, particularly during Ramadan and beyond.
