Dhaka, Mar 04 (V7N) – Former Dhaka University professor CR Abrar is set to join the advisory council of the interim government as the Education Advisor. His swearing-in ceremony will take place at Bangabhaban on Wednesday (March 5) at 11 AM.
The announcement was made by Shafiqul Alam, Press Secretary to the Chief Advisor, during a briefing at the Foreign Service Academy in Dhaka on Tuesday (March 4).
Professor CR Abrar’s appointment comes as Dr. Wahiduddin Mahmud, who currently oversees both the Education and Planning Ministries, expressed his inability to manage both roles simultaneously due to his advanced age and workload in the Planning Ministry.
To address this, the interim government has decided to relieve Dr. Mahmud of his responsibilities in the Education Ministry and hand over the position to Professor CR Abrar.
Professor CR Abrar, known for his contributions in academia and research, is expected to bring new direction and leadership to the Education Ministry during this crucial transitional period.
