Dhaka, Mar 05 (V7N) – The Cabinet Division has appointed two new Special Assistants to the Chief Advisor of the interim government, granting them the rank of State Minister.
The newly appointed officials are:
- Sheikh Moinuddin – Special Assistant for the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges
- Faiz Ahmed Tayyab – Special Assistant for the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications, and Information Technology
The official notification was issued on Wednesday (March 5), confirming that both Sheikh Moinuddin and Faiz Ahmed Tayyab will receive the rank, salary, and allowances equivalent to a State Minister during their tenure as Special Assistants.
The interim government was formed on August 8, 2024, following the fall of the Sheikh Hasina government on August 5 amid a student-led public uprising. Over the past seven months, the Advisory Council has seen several reshuffles and new appointments.
The interim government currently consists of 23 advisors, including the Chief Advisor. Additionally, there are:
- One Special Assistant (Defense and National Integration Development)
- One Special Envoy (International Affairs)
- One High Representative (Rohingya Issues and Priority Issues)
Before today's appointments, three Special Assistants had been serving in the Ministries of Home Affairs, Health, and Education. With the latest additions, the number of Special Assistants with the rank of State Minister now stands at five.
