Dhaka, Mar 12 (V7N) –Teachers of non-MPO educational institutions have withdrawn their protest programmes after the government took a decision to include their educational institutions in the Monthly Payment Order (MPO) list.
The decision was made in a meeting between Education Adviser Chowdhury Rafiqul Abrar and representatives of non-MPO teachers yesterday (11 March), according to Sammilita Non-MPO Oikya Parishad.
Speaking at a press briefing tonight, Md Selim Miah, chief coordinator of Sammilits Non-MPO Oikya Parishad, said the MPO enrollment process will start from today (12 March) and the education ministry will publish the final list by next May.
Teachers had been protesting in front of the National Press Club for 17 days since 23 February for the MPO enrollment of non-MPO educational institutions.
