Dhaka, Mar 14 (V7N) – Advance ticket sales for intercity trains have started today to facilitate smooth travel for passengers ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr. As per Bangladesh Railway's special arrangement, 100% of the tickets are being sold online to ease congestion at ticket counters.

According to Bangladesh Railway Director General Md. Afzal Hossain, ticket sales began at 8 AM for intercity trains in the western region, while tickets for the eastern region are being released at 2 PM.

The ticket sales schedule is as follows:

  • March 14: Tickets for March 24
  • March 15: Tickets for March 25
  • March 16: Tickets for March 26
  • March 17: Tickets for March 27
  • March 18: Tickets for March 28
  • March 19: Tickets for March 29
  • March 20: Tickets for March 30

Additionally, tickets for March 31, April 1, and April 2 may be sold later, depending on the sighting of the moon.

To prevent ticket scalping, each passenger is allowed to purchase tickets only once, with a maximum of four seats per booking. Furthermore, tickets are non-refundable. 25% of standing tickets will be available at the starting station before departure, considering public demand.
