Dhaka, Mar 19 (V7N) – Chief of Army Staff General Waqar-uz-Zaman met with Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, the Chief Advisor of the Interim Government, at the State Guest House Jamuna on Wednesday.
During the meeting, General Waqar-uz-Zaman briefed the Chief Advisor on the overall security situation of the country and the ongoing activities of the Bangladesh Army. They also discussed various military initiatives aimed at strengthening national development and stability.
The Army Chief shared insights from his recent visit to the Central African Republic, expressing optimism that the trip would help strengthen bilateral military relations and cooperation between the two nations.
Additionally, discussions covered the evaluation and recommendations from the recently concluded High-Level Council on ensuring justice for deprived army officers and the progress of another High-Level Council reviewing cases of JCOs and other ranks dismissed for various reasons.
General Waqar-uz-Zaman also informed the Chief Advisor about the Army’s efforts to assist students and the public injured during the July-August uprising. The Chief Advisor provided necessary guidance and encouraged the Army to continue its professional and dedicated service in ensuring the nation’s sovereignty and security.
The meeting reaffirmed the commitment of the Bangladesh Army to supporting national stability and development while maintaining its role as a guardian of security and justice.
