President Mohammed Shahabuddin has arrived in the United Kingdom (UK) from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for a health check-up. He landed in London last night (Bangladesh Time) after departing from Dubai earlier that day.

According to Md Ashequn Nabi Chowdhury, press minister at the High Commission of Bangladesh in London, President Shahabuddin's flight with Emirates Airlines departed from Dubai at 12:30 pm local time and arrived in London at 04:30 pm London time.

Upon his arrival at Heathrow Airport, London, President Shahabuddin was received by Bangladesh High Commissioner to the UK Saida Muna Tasneem and senior officials. Accompanying the President are his wife, Dr. Rebecca Sultana, and secretaries from Bangabhaban.

In the city of Cambridge, President Shahabuddin was greeted with flowers by expatriate Bengalis and leaders of the UK unit of Bangladesh Awami League. Present at the reception were senior AL leaders, including Alhaj Jalal Uddin, Syed Sajidur Rahman Faruk, Naeem Uddin Riaz, Abdul Ahad Chowdhury, Saidur Rahman Pappu, and Maksudur Rahman.

President Shahabuddin's visit to the UAE and the UK for a health check-up commenced on March 3, with his expected return to Bangladesh scheduled for March 13. This trip follows his cardiac bypass surgery abroad on October 18, 2023.
