Dhaka, Apr 13 (V7N) – The budget ordinance for the fiscal year 2025–26 will be officially issued on June 2, as per the budget formulation roadmap, according to Finance Ministry officials.

In the absence of an active parliament, the upcoming national budget will be implemented through an ordinance instead of the usual parliamentary approval process. Officials confirmed that Finance Advisor Salehuddin Ahmed will present the budget speech on television, while a post-budget press conference is scheduled for the same day.

Sources from the Finance Ministry revealed that the draft budget ordinance will be submitted to the Chief Advisor on May 21, and forwarded to the President on May 22 for final approval.

Some key components of the budget, especially those related to Value Added Tax (VAT) and customs, will come into effect immediately upon issuance of the ordinance on June 2. The remaining provisions will take effect from the start of the new fiscal year on July 1.

Since the budget is being issued through an ordinance, there will be no parliamentary hearing on its contents this time.
