TOKYO, May 30, (V7N) – Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus today called upon Japan to extend its full support in building a “New Bangladesh” during his address at the Bangladesh Business Seminar in Tokyo, jointly hosted by JETRO and JICA.
“We are in big trouble… Bangladesh has gone through a 16-year earthquake. Everything fell apart. We are trying to pick up the pieces,” said Prof Yunus.
He described Japan as a true friend, especially during times of adversity.
“Our task is to make the impossible possible — and you are our partner and our friend,” he told Japanese stakeholders at JETRO headquarters, expressing confidence in Japan’s ability to contribute significantly to Bangladesh’s future.
