Dhaka, Jun 06 (V7N) – As the country prepares to celebrate Eid-ul-Azha, major congregations are being organized across all divisional cities and districts. Among them, Sholakia Eidgah in Kishoreganj and Gor-e-Shahid Maidan in Dinajpur are once again competing for the title of largest Eid congregation in the country.

Sholakia: A Historic Gathering

Every year, Sholakia Eidgah in Kishoreganj hosts one of Bangladesh’s most renowned Eid congregations. This year, the main prayer will begin at 9 am on Saturday (June 7), led by Maulana Abul Khair Md. Saifullah, Khatib of Bora Bazar Mosque. To facilitate travel, two special trains, named 'Sholakia Special', have been arranged by the railway authorities.

Dinajpur: Rising in Scale

Meanwhile, the Gor-e-Shahid Bora Maidan in Dinajpur, spanning 22 acres, is increasingly drawing attention as a contender for the largest congregation. Organizers claim five to six lakh worshippers can gather at once. The Eid prayer here will commence at 8:30 am, led by Maulana Md. Mahfuzur Rahman.
