Savar, June 27 (V7N) — Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, Chief Advisor to the Interim Government, emphasized that all nations must unite and take responsibility for transforming the world before it faces destruction. "Everyone must participate. We must take the right path before destruction," he said.
Dr. Yunus made these remarks on Friday morning at the inauguration ceremony of the two-day 15th Social Business Day, held at the Samajik Convention Center in Jirabo, Savar.
Describing Social Business Day as a “family reunion,” the Chief Advisor noted that previous governments had raised objections to the observance of this day. "Bangladesh was able to observe this day for the first time after August 5," he said, highlighting the significance of this year's event.
Addressing the theme — "Social business is the most effective way to ensure healthcare for all" — Dr. Yunus said that social business is the only sustainable means to guarantee healthcare services, as reliance on donations alone is not viable. He added that the event aims to promote a sustainable, just, and humane value system by eliminating discrimination and limitations across sectors, including health, worldwide.
On education, Dr. Yunus underscored the importance of fostering dreams. "Any education system must be created through dreaming. Teaching dreaming will be the first task of the education system," he said, adding that the envisioned Rural University will contribute to building a new civilization.
"If you don't dream, it is not possible to implement it. You have to dream. I don't want to create a gloomy world; I want to create a beautiful world. I want to build a new civilization. We can do that," he affirmed.
The two-day event features five plenary sessions and eight breakout sessions, with the participation of more than 1,000 delegates, including over 180 international participants from more than 25 countries.
