Dhaka, July 22 (V7N) — Dr. Muhammad Yunus, the Chief Advisor of Bangladesh, conveyed his heartfelt condolences in a video message regarding the tragic crash of a military training plane at Milestone School and College in Uttara, Dhaka, which resulted in multiple casualties. The message was posted on his verified Facebook page on Monday night at 9 PM.
In an emotional tone, Dr. Yunus said, "I have no words to express my sorrow. I do not know how to begin. People across the nation, including myself, are stunned by this tragedy. No one ever imagined or could foresee such an incident. But this unbelievable reality has suddenly become our harsh truth."
He continued, "The disaster at Milestone School and College, where a training plane crashed and engulfed children in flames, is beyond comprehension. What can we say to the parents of those children? We cannot even find answers for ourselves. The faces of these innocent children haunt my mind."
Dr. Yunus described the nation’s collective shock and grief, stating that the pain is still fresh as bodies continue to arrive at hospitals, and families desperately search for their missing children. "There is no way to distinguish or separate them; they are all our children who suddenly left us. While we will conduct an investigation, it will not bring back those lives. We are focusing on providing medical treatment to the injured, and many people are working tirelessly to support this effort."
He urged the public not to crowd hospitals, emphasizing, "It is not helpful for the injured to have crowds there. Please keep your prayers from a distance."
The Chief Advisor extended his sympathy and condolences to the families of the victims and announced a day of mourning for Tuesday. "We will all remember those lost together, pray for their souls, and seek peace and forgiveness for them. The entire nation is united in prayer for the victims."
