Dhaka, Aug 31 (V7N) – Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan, Advisor to the Ministry of Local Government and Youth Sports, has claimed that a plan is underway to bring back the Awami League from within the Jatiya Party. He made the comments while speaking to journalists at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) around noon on Sunday, August 31.
Advisor Asif alleged that the recent attack on People's Rights Council President Nurul Haque Nur was part of a conspiracy linked to this plan. “They are specific and identified fascists through various activities, including legitimizing the previous illegal parliament. This heinous attack on Nur took place as part of a conspiracy to bring back the Awami League through them,” he said.
He added that the government does not support anyone trying to assist them and expressed hope that anti-fascist parties would also stand up on behalf of the people.
Speaking on the incident, the advisor said, “The attack on Nur was not like the ones that occurred during the Awami League’s tenure. Such an incident, no matter who was involved, happened while the interim government was in charge. This government must solve this attack and bring the perpetrators to justice.”
Advisor Asif also questioned the characterization of political events, asking, “We must first understand what is a mob and what is a political program. How can a registered party's program be called a mob?”
Earlier in the day, Advisor Asif visited Nurul Haque Nur, who is undergoing treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at DMCH, to inquire about his health.
