The causes identified by Bangladesh Jatri Kalyan Samity include misapplication of traffic laws, inadequate enforcement, proliferation of motorcycles and three-wheelers, lack of road signage and lighting, unfit vehicles, driver incompetence, and various forms of misconduct on the roads.

To address these issues, the organization recommends initiatives such as establishing a comprehensive road accident database, improving public transport systems, enhancing driver competency, enforcing vehicle fitness standards, promoting safety measures for cyclists and motorcyclists, and implementing measures to improve road infrastructure and regulatory agencies' performance.
