Dhaka, Aug 25 (V7N) – The second day of hearings on claims and objections regarding the re-demarcation of parliamentary constituencies for the 13th National Parliament Election is underway at the Election Commission (EC) Building.
The hearing began Sunday morning with Chief Election Commissioner AMM Nasir Uddin and other election commissioners present. Today, claims and objections for 20 constituencies are being examined.
The morning session focused on seven constituencies in Satkhira, Jessore, and Bagerhat, where appellants presented their positions for and against the draft boundaries. They later explained their views to journalists.
The afternoon session will cover 13 constituencies in Jhalokati, Barguna, Pirojpur, Chittagong, and the Chittagong Hill Tracts.
On the first day of the hearing, the EC reviewed objections from the Comilla region. The four-day hearing is scheduled to continue until next Wednesday, during which a total of 1,760 claims and objections will be considered. After completing the review, the EC will publish the finalized gazettes for all 300 constituencies.
