Dhaka, Sep 20 (V7N) – Home Affairs Advisor Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has said that the sacrifices of the martyrs in the July-August movement will not be in vain, and those who opposed the movement will never be able to reverse its legacy.
He made the remarks while inaugurating the July Revolution graffiti at the Mawa end and the July Sacrifice graffiti at the Jajira end of the Padma Bridge on Saturday at 2:30 pm. The event was part of the anniversary of the mass uprising and the youth festival.
“The July Mass Uprising was not just a movement but a struggle to establish truth and justice against injustice,” the advisor said. “Organizing this graffiti is not merely ceremonial; it is a unique effort to convey history to the new generation. The July Heroism and July Sacrifice graffiti will remind us how the youth sacrificed for freedom and democracy and set an enduring example.”
He added that the movement gave new direction to the nation and expressed confidence that such initiatives will inspire people with the spirit of truth, justice, freedom, and democracy.
Responding to concerns about the graffiti’s future, Jahangir Alam said, “Those against this graffiti will never be able to reverse it. Anyone who thinks otherwise is mistaken.”
The program was attended by officials from various ministries, district administrations, and police, and prayers were offered for the victims of the July uprising.
