Dhaka, Sep 25 (V7N) – Inspector General of Police (IGP) Baharul Alam said that security arrangements have been significantly strengthened ahead of the upcoming Durga Puja celebrations. He made the remarks after inspecting preparations for the public Durga Puja at Banglabazar in Old Dhaka on Thursday afternoon.

The IGP noted that minor incidents sometimes occur during Durga Puja preparations, but prompt action is taken whenever information is received. He added that the police are vigilant to prevent any disturbances that might be caused by disgruntled Awami League workers.

He also remarked that defeated political factions have tried to demonstrate their strength, but authorities are handling the situation within the law. Detectives have been deployed to ensure that no one can create instability around the Durga Puja celebrations.
