Dhaka, Sep 28 (V7N) – The government-managed airfare for Hajj pilgrims in 2026 has been reduced by 12,990 taka, bringing the total cost to 1,54,830 taka, lower than last year’s rate.
Religious Affairs Advisor Dr. A. F. M. Khalid Hossain announced the reduction during a press conference on Sunday afternoon at the Secretariat, where he also unveiled the Hajj packages for next year.
Three government-managed packages have been announced:

Package 1: 6,90,597 taka

Package 2: 5,58,881 taka

Package 3: 4,67,167 taka
Additionally, a privately managed package will cost 5,91,185 taka.
Dr. Khalid Hossain said that Hajj registration started on July 27 and will continue until October 12. The visa issuance process will begin on February 8, 2026, and the first Hajj flight is scheduled for April 18, 2026.
The Religious Advisor advised that people over 70 years old are discouraged from performing Hajj this year. Those who insist on going must travel with a companion and submit a doctor’s prescription from a government hospital. He also noted that seriously ill individuals will not be permitted to perform Hajj.
