Dhaka, Oct 02 (V7N) – The Election Commission (EC) has asked the National Citizens Party (NCP) to select one symbol from a list of 50 approved symbols and submit its choice in writing by October 7.

In a letter sent on September 30, the EC said that NCP’s application for registration as a political party had undergone an initial review. The party had listed a flower, a pen, and a mobile phone as its preferred symbols. However, under election rules, the “flower” symbol is not permitted.

The commission requested the party to select an available symbol from the approved list for further processing of its registration application.

The 50 symbols available for allocation include: cupboard, bed, telephone, fridge, mora, ostrich, muri, tabla, buck, rooster, pen, charger light, watermelon, flute, gourd, pitcher, shrimp, plate, bench, litchi, shaker, glasses, building, brinjal, conch, computer, jug, swing, bucket, sewing machine, banana, ship, butterfly, balloon, sofa, tubewell, football, electric fan, suitcase, tiffin carrier, flower tub, mug, deer, table, mic, duck, table clock, peacock, helicopter, and mobile phone.
