Dhaka, Oct 08 (V7N) – The Ministry of Education has instructed the reinstatement of salaries and allowances for teachers who were compelled to resign from various private educational institutions following the August 5 uprising.
The directive, issued in a letter signed by Syed A. Z. Morshed Ali, Deputy Secretary (Additional Charge) of the Secondary and Higher Education Department, highlighted that many teachers had their payments stopped despite ongoing investigations. The affected teachers had reportedly stated in their applications that they were living under inhuman conditions due to the suspension of salaries.
The ministry has ordered that the concerned teachers’ names be included in the Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT) system, ensuring the continuation of their salaries and allowances until the complaints are resolved.
The letter also warned that any officer or authority obstructing this process will face necessary action under existing rules.
This instruction has been circulated to all relevant authorities, including the Director General of the Department of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHHE), Divisional Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, and District Education Officers.
