Dhaka, Oct 09 (V7N) – Advisor Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan has arrived at the International Crimes Tribunal-1 to testify in the Chankharpul six murder case that occurred during the August 5 uprising.

He reached the tribunal premises around 2 p.m. on Thursday (October 9) to provide his testimony on the 10th day of hearings in the ongoing trial.

Earlier, Asif Mahmud had given a statement to the investigation officer, where he alleged that members of the Detective Branch (DB) had forcibly recorded a video message from the coordinators of the July coup, claiming it would be shown to the then Prime Minister and Home Minister. However, the video was later released on social media.

In his prior statement, Asif Mahmud also said that on July 19, when internet services were shut down, DGFI officials tracked his phone and detained him. He was reportedly blindfolded and held for five days, during which he was unaware of his location.

He further stated that after August 5, while visiting the “Mirror House” with the Chief Advisor, he was able to recognize the place where he had been held during his disappearance.
