Dhaka, Oct 14 (V7N) — Legal Advisor Dr. Asif Nazrul has announced that a separate secretariat for the judiciary will be established during the tenure of the current interim government.
He made the remarks while speaking at a program organized by the Attorney General’s Office at the Supreme Court Auditorium on Tuesday (October 14) morning.
Dr. Nazrul said that after securing bail from the court, an accused currently has to pass through 12 bureaucratic steps, often involving additional expenses. To reduce harassment and improve efficiency, the government is introducing a system for online bail bonds.
“Once implemented, the bail bond will reach the relevant prison with a single click after the court grants bail,” he explained.
The legal advisor also stated that several important laws — including the Disappearance Act, Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Act, and Human Rights Act — are expected to be finalized within the next few weeks.
He added, “During the interim government’s tenure, the Judicial Department Separate Secretariat Act, along with other essential legal reforms, will be enacted to ensure transparency and strengthen the justice system.”
