The flag meeting was led by Nayek Subedar Md Kamruzzaman, office commander of BGB Kathuli Company, and Assistant Commander Aanch Kumar of the BSF’s 56 Battalion under Tehatta Police Station in India’s Nadia district. Members of both border forces were present during the handover.

According to BGB sources, the individuals are residents of various districts in Bangladesh. They had illegally crossed into India through different border points with the help of human traffickers, seeking employment as laborers. They were later detained by Indian police and subsequently handed over to the BSF.

BGB commander Nayek Subedar Kamruzzaman said the 24 Bangladeshis were transferred to Gangni Police Station after completion of formal procedures.

Gangni Police Station’s Investigation Officer Al Mamun confirmed receiving the group, adding that they will be returned to their families following legal processing.
