Dhaka, Jan 05 (V7N)- Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin has said that the overall atmosphere for the upcoming 13th parliamentary elections is satisfactory so far.

The CEC made the remarks on Monday while visiting the appeal booth upon entering the Election Commission building in Agargaon of the capital.

He expressed optimism, saying that with the cooperation of all concerned, it would be possible to hold a free and fair election. “The current election environment is satisfactory,” he added.

Meanwhile, the process of filing appeals against the decisions of returning officers began at the Election Commission from Monday. According to EC sources, hearings on these appeals will be conducted in phases starting from January 10.
